Alamo Square Cleaners is a family-run business with more than five decades of history in San Francisco’s Western Addition and NOPA neighborhood. Originally founded as Budget Cleaners, our shop has provided garment care, wash-and-fold services, and alterations for generations of local residents.

Over the years, our family has worked to preserve the values the business was built on while also evolving with the times. In 2010, we transitioned from traditional perc-based dry cleaning to wet cleaning, a safer and more environmentally friendly cleaning method that uses water and biodegradable detergents instead of harsh chemical solvents. That change reflected our commitment not only to quality garment care, but also to a healthier future for our customers, our workers, and our city.

Today, Alamo Square Cleaners continues that legacy with the same family values and service that have defined us since 1968.
